GOLO Continues Support for Local Community-Based Organizations

As part of our ongoing commitment to the local community, we recently donated over $68,000 across nine organizations in our corporate home state of Delaware.

The organizations receiving donations are Food Bank of Delaware ($10,000), Delaware Regional Dream Center ($5,000), Sunday Breakfast Mission ($10,000), CHILD Inc. ($10,000), Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County ($10,000), Kind to Kids Foundation ($10,000), Girls on the Run ($5,000), Toys for Tots ($5,000), and the Delaware Mental Health Association ($3,400).

“We remain committed to supporting the vital work and services provided by community-based organizations in New Castle County and across the state," said Jennifer Brooks, Co-founder and President of GOLO.

The funding will support various local community initiatives targeting childhood hunger, food insecurity, mental health and wellness, and homelessness.

Food Bank of Delaware

The mission of Food Bank of Delaware is to inspire hope in local DE communities by providing food to nourish Delawareans while collaborating on long-term solutions to hunger and poverty.

Delaware Regional Dream Center

Delaware Regional Dream Center is a volunteer-driven, charitable organization that finds the forgotten and helps them build a firm foundation so they will flourish in life.

"With the support of companies like GOLO, we can provide targeted community outreach programs for individuals and families here in Delaware by delivering resources and coordinating services that fulfill life's necessities," said Matt Morrison, Executive Director for the Delaware Regional Dream Center.  "Our goal is to motivate those individuals to achieve a more fulfilled standard of living as we create, develop, and implement sustainable programs to address our community's needs."

Sunday Breakfast Mission

Sunday Breakfast Mission provides care and support to many homeless, hurting, and hungry men, women, and children in the surrounding Wilmington, DE area.

CHILD, Inc.

CHILD, Inc. serves dependent, neglected, and abused children and their parents.

“We are very grateful for GOLO’s generous contribution to our agency,” said Lori Sitler, Ph.D., Executive Director of CHILD, Inc. “Because we operate emergency shelters for children and adults who have experienced domestic violence or child maltreatment as well as community-based programs for children and families, we always have a need for healthy meals. The donation from GOLO will help us provide nutritious options for the families we shelter and those we serve in the community.  Thanks for your support!”

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County (NCC) is an independently chartered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest not-for-profit builder in the world. Habitat NCC is committed to changing lives and landscapes by revitalizing neighborhoods and empowering the families they serve.

Kind to Kids Foundation

Each day, children who are victims of child abuse and neglect enter the foster care system. Kind to Kids delivers educational programs, support services, and supplies to help the children through these difficult times in their young lives.

Toys For Tots, Wilmington

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, and patriotic citizens.

Mental Health Association in Delaware

The Mental Health Association in Delaware promotes improved mental well-being for all individuals and families in Delaware through education, support, and advocacy.
 
“We are grateful for contributions from companies like GOLO that allow us to continue our lifesaving work of suicide prevention and mental health support," said Emily Vera, Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Delaware. “Delawareans who struggle with mental illness, families looking for information and assistance, and those who are working hard to maintain recovery and help others all benefit from the support provided through their generosity.”

Girls on the Run Delaware

Girls on the Run offers programs designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others.
