GOLO Donates Additional $50,000 to Support Local Charities

As part of our ongoing commitment to support local community-based initiatives, GOLO recently donated $50,000 across four charitable organizations. The groups receiving donations are Special Olympics Delaware, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware, Sunday Breakfast Mission, and Exceptional Care for Children. The funding will support a variety of community initiatives.

"These contributions advance our mission to collaborate with community organizations that are creating real and significant impact in people's lives," stated Jennifer Brooks, Co-founder and President of GOLO.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Helping them participate in athletic competition gives them an opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and share their gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

“GOLO has been a strong advocate of our Summer Games and sponsor of our Healthy Athlete station for many years,” said David Halley, President and CEO, Special Olympics of Delaware. “Their support provides free health education, activities, and screenings for over 500 athletes. We could not offer these free programs without their involvement and support. It truly is life-changing!”

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware serves families with seriously ill children by enabling access to medical care and providing a place that offers comfort, hope, and togetherness. Their programs and support services include a 50-bedroom Ronald McDonald House, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and two hospitality cart programs.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and most importantly, the families we serve, we thank GOLO for their generous donation and continued support of our mission,” said Pamela W. Cornforth, President and CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware. “We believe that nothing is more important than family and providing them comfort, care, and togetherness during their child’s medical crisis. By providing a “home-away-from-home” to families who travel far distances to receive medical treatments in Wilmington, we allow our families to experience all of the comforts of home, including accommodations, nutritious meals, and a supportive community. Our families are then able to focus on what matters most – the well-being of their child.”
