GOLO Donates Over 100,000 Meals in Delaware

As part of a year-long campaign, GOLO donated over 100,000 nutritious meals to local food banks, food pantries, and community organizations to help combat hunger and food insecurity in Delaware.

GOLO's unique food donation program, which includes meals from the company's GOLO Foods® line, is designed to provide balanced meals to people in need while also educating communities on the benefits of eating more nutritiously.

Local community partners involved in the distribution of the meals, Food Bank of Delaware and the Delaware Regional Dream Center, also received monetary donations of $10,000 each to further their ongoing community outreach efforts in the state.

"We recognize the urgent issues of hunger and food insecurity and are committed to supporting those in need,” said Jennifer Brooks, President and Co-founder of GOLO. “By collaborating with partners such as the Food Bank of Delaware and the Delaware Regional Dream Center, we aim to create a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our home state of Delaware."

In 2024, GOLO donated 200,000 meals and made $250,000 in monetary donations to community-based organizations that support families, veterans, children, and the homeless in Delaware and nationally.

Food Insecurity in Delaware and Beyond

Feeding America, the largest charity dedicated to ending hunger in the United States, reports that food insecurity is increasing in Delaware. GOLO’s food donation program, which was introduced in Delaware last fall, is designed to provide local food banks and food pantries with access to a healthy and nutritionally balanced meal option.

“GOLO has been an incredible partner in our fight against hunger in Delaware,” said Food Bank of Delaware President and CEO Cathy Kanefsky. “We are thrilled to be able to assist in the distribution of these nutritious meals to our neighbors. This support helps put food on tables and fuels hope and resilience within our community. Together, we are making a meaningful impact.”

"Food insecurity and hunger are significant issues in our local community, as 1 in 7 kids in Delaware are food insecure, and around 13% of our population receives SNAP benefits. We are pleased to have assisted GOLO in providing nutritious meals to families in need through our Restoring Hope Community Outreach project," said Matthew Morrison, MAS, BSN, RN, Executive Director of the Delaware Regional Dream Center. "We are also thankful for GOLO's $10,000 donation to support our efforts toward reducing the number of missed meals for our Delaware families."

Since its launch, GOLO’s food donation program has supported food banks and pantries across several states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Recently, GOLO partnered with Feeding America’s network of partner food banks to provide 100,000 nutritious meals to aid relief and recovery efforts in communities affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
